This Clarifying Hair Rinse Leaves My Scalp Clean and Fresh

For most of my life I’ve been a wash-my-hair-every-day kind of person, until I found out that I needed to dial it back to a minimum of at least every other day (you should have seen the look on my hair stylist’s face when I told her I washed it daily).  When I finally got into an every other day routine, I majorly pumped up my use of dry shampoo. Unfortunately, it left me with some nasty build-up that would leave my scalp flakey and my strands with a gritty feel, even after double-cleansing with shampoo.

Baron Blood movie review & film summary (1972)

"Baron Blood" is the nickname of the evil Count Whatsizname (Joseph Cotten), who is brought back from the dead by an incantation recited by his moronic American cousin (who is in Austria on a vacation, and how much does he expect for five dollars a day, anyway?). Once restored, the count re-establishes himself in the sadism line. He has a cellar-full of torture devices the likes of which have not been seen since the last time American-International made a movie in a cellar, and, sure enough, Elke Sommer gets herself shackled to the Rack in nothing flat.

Joe's Apartment movie review & film summary (1996)

The plot has been recycled out of many another Manhattan comedy about the evil property developer who wants to tear down the colorful little brownstone and put up some architectural monstrosity. (I am sure I saw most of this story in “Where The Heart Is” (1990), the movie about an evil property developer, etc.) The rent-controlled apartment building in this film is occupied by a little old lady, who is tripped by hidden wires and in other ways forced out of her flat by the nephews of the evil slumlord (played by Don Ho--yes, Don Ho).

Lapsis movie review & film summary (2021)

The filmmaker does a phenomenal job of setting up this world in a natural-seeming way, smuggling mountains of pertinent fact into conversations that pretend to be banal. Notice, for instance, the long scene between Ray and Felix in a neighborhood coffee shop—a Christopher Nolan-level info dump that feels organic because of how it's written and performed: just a couple of guys blabbing over lunch. Once Ray gets into the woods, Hutton repeats this trick in conversations between Ray and other CABLRs (including Madeline Wise's Anna, a labor activist trying to unionize the workers).
